Basically some members of a church (The August Gate Church) started this because there are a lot of new moms in the congregation with nothing to do. They decided to start hosting this free weekly playdate in their church basement every wed from 9 to 10:30 am. Everyone there couldn't have been nicer. It is a large carpeted area with a bounce house, slide, little tikes house, tunnel, building blocks, puzzles, balls, a kitchen, coloring station with crayons and pages to color, and they even had free coffee and blueberry coffee cake. There are lots of tables and chairs so you can have a seat and watch the kids play. At about 10:15 everyone started cleaning up and then someone read a story to all the kids. My daughter really enjoyed it (especially the bounce house) and I met some really cool people. The only negative I guess is that it's not very long for people who don't live close by. Honestly though it is wonderful to have a new indoor place to play where the kids can run and have fun. I didn't check to see whether there were changing tables in the bathroom but it was very close to where the kids were playing which was nice. And the free coffee and food was above and beyond what I expected for a free playdate. We will definitely be back.
Thanks Angie for the review and photos!
