Ladue Early Childhood Center Open Play, Creve Coeur

Location: 10890 Ladue Road, St. Louis, MO 63141

This open play is wonderful. They have a TON of stuff. It's recommended for walkers up to age 4. When you get there you have to sign in. You don't have to live in the district but they do want your name and info and you get a name tag for your child(ren). They will direct you to the "Big Room" down the hall. There are basically 2 rooms you can play in- the big room, and the gym. I'll talk about the big room first. It has a fire station with fireman dress up clothes, and a fire truck. It has a big play structure with a slide, stairs, and rock wall. On the second level is a farm table with animals and tractors. They have an amazing water table that was built by the same man who did the one for the Magic House. Under the play structure is a play kitchen, a baby doll area, and a picnic area.  A parent educator is always on hand for questions as well. It's held on select Fridays from 9:30- 10:30. I'd call to make sure it's going on before you go (314) 993-5724.

The gym area is where they can really let loose. There are tons of wagons, cozy coupes, bikes, tractors, basketballs, bouncy balls, tunnels, and more. My kids tried out everything and really had a great time.

The only downside to this open play is that it's only for an hour. If you happen to live far away like in St. Charles, I doubt you'd want to drive all that way just for an hour and then have to turn around and go home. But it could work if you did this and then something else in the area.

One time after the open play they bought everyone into yet another room and played a song on the guitar about frogs. The facility is new and state of the art. I love that they offer this but just wish it was longer. I asked and she said it would probably not be extended because this is an actual school and they need the room for their students.

The gym is further down the hall and filled with lots of moveable things.
