Oak Knoll Park, Clayton

Location: 1 Oak Knoll Park, Clayton, MO 63105

Website: http://www.claytonmo.gov/Home/Components/FacilityDirectory/FacilityDirectory/14/314

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

Oak Knoll is a very picturesque park with a rich history (you can read it in detail on their website). It's the second-largest park in Clayton, which includes a beautiful little lake with a fountain in the center.  It is home to turtles and ducks you can feed, a sunken garden, and lovely walking trails. Also on the grounds is the Clayton Early Childhood Center. You enter the park off of Big Bend,  and the playground is visible from the parking lot. This playground was redone in 2014. The design mimics nature- there is an acorn you can crawl in, logs, turtles, snails, and a canoe. They have a saucer swing, a modified merry-go-round, and musical instruments. It's an inclusive playground and completely fenced in. The playground is partly shaded, and we love strolling around on the trails and feeding the ducks as well. There is a bathroom building a short walk from the playground.

The lake is pretty, and we love watching the turtles.

Oak Valley Water Park, Pevely

Location: 1230 Abbey Ln., Pevely, MO 63070

This pool is open daily from 11 am-6 pm and on Sundays from 1-6 pm. This facility was a private Teamsters resort, and it sat empty for years. It's under new ownership and they're bringing it back to life. Also on this property is a golf course, RV park, overnight cabins, a banquet hall, and a stocked fishing lake. The Teamsters have owned the property since 1959, but I can't find out what year the pool was built. It's not ancient, but it's showing some age.

Small, shallow baby pool near the entrance.

They had tons of tables with umbrellas next to the concession stand.

They have such a great kids' area! Zero entry, tire swing, 2 big slides, and pop jets galore mean any kid will love this.

Here's a cool feature: they have a tiny baby pool sectioned off from the regular pool.

2 speed slides on the water playground, plus a tunnel and a couple other slides.

2 diving boards
