Hartry Park, Shrewsbury

Location: 4100 Exeter Ave, Shrewsbury, MO 63119

Amenities: playground, trails, basketball court

Website: https://www.shrewsburymo.gov/departments/parks___recreation/parks.php

Playground ground cover: wood chips

This playground was completely renovated in early 2021. My favorite thing about it is that it's almost completely shaded. That is so hard to find. Also, it's fenced in! There is a basketball court adjacent to the playground that is perfect for playing with the balls that we brought. There is also a nice pathway that winds around the park that my daughter enjoyed walking and running on. The playground equipment is great for climbing,  They only have a porta-potty and not a real restroom, but I suppose it's better than nothing. The park is very quiet on a residential street and there was no one else there the whole time we were there.

Nice large green space

They took out the swings and they just have a saucer swing now.

The play structure has a large slide, lots of stepping stones, ropes, a climbing wall, monkey bars, and other random climbing things.

Scott A. Lewis Park, Cottleville

Location: Park Dr., Cottleville, MO 63376

Website: https://www.cityofcottleville.com/parks-and-recreation/scott-a-lewis-park/

Playground Ground Cover: Rubber Chips

"Scott A. Lewis Park is Cottleville's newest addition to our Parks system. This park is named after the former long term Chief of Police/City Administrator who was later elected St. Charles County Sheriff. Sheriff Lewis continues to serve as Cottleville's City Historian. This is a 65-acre park with two lakes. Buchheit lake is 18 acres. The total area of both lakes is 22.5 acres. Kayak and stand up paddle board rentals are available to be used on Buchheit Lake. Rentals are through Rent.Fun app."

Added in 2020, this playground is in the Miralago subdivision off of Mid Rivers Mall Dr. It is designed for children from 2-7 and it's located near pavilion 1.  The play structure has a tunnel, bridge, steering wheel, slides, rock wall, and more. The trail around Buchheit Lake has been extended to the nearby Calvary Church trails which circle around their property near Dardenne Creek. This new trail extension will now provide walkers and riders access to a 2.1-mile loop beginning at Scott A. Lewis Park.

Drace Park, Town and Country

Location: 2310 Cedar Valley Rd., Town & Country, MO 63131

Amenities: playground, picnic shelter, trails, historical log cabins, restroom

Website: https://www.town-and-country.org/143/Drace-Park

Playground ground cover: Astroturf

Drace Park replaced the playground in 2023. The new playground is more natural and I love the astroturf flooring.

The old playground

There is a large parking lot with plenty of parking and a restroom building right at the entrance. It looks like they are building a pavilion but it's not complete yet.

There is a saucer netted swing, a baby swing, an ADA swing, and 2 sling swings.

This wooden tower has climbing grips, a metal slide, and 3 hammocks underneath.

These log cabins are great in family photos

In 2016 they added a nature play area. The playground is cool, but this area in the woods is super cool and not found at many other parks around here. My kids loved playing with the natural materials in the shaded woods!

Xylophone in the Music and Movement area-  but over the years the mallets have disappeared.

 Building area

The blocks have disappeared as well.

 We miss these scarf hammocks
