Minnie Wood Memorial Square, Mount Pleasant Neighborhood, St. Louis City

South Broadway and Meramec

Website: http://stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/parks/parks/view-park.cfm?parkID=64&parkName=Minniewood%20Park

Playground ground cover: poured rubber

The playground at Minnie Wood Memorial Square in south St. Louis has a nice playground with a separate climbing structure for toddlers and for school-aged kids. There are also the fake rocks to climb on, 2 baby swings and 6 sling swings (although several of the swings were thrown up over the top bar of the swing set and thus unusable). There is an small, old jungle gym next to the large swing set (it's photographed below). The playground offers kiddos lots of places to climb, slide, and hang, giving them lots of practice with balance and coordination. The park does not have a restroom (the building you see pictured below probably has a restroom in it, but there are no signs on it and the doors are locked, so for whatever reason, they are no longer accessible to the public). I think there might be a spray fountain in the park (pictured below), it is off season so it wasn't on when we visited but other sources online call it a "cooling fountain."
