Warson Park, Olivette

Location: 9723 Grandview Dr, Olivette, MO 63132

Website: http://www.olivetteparksandrec.com/warson-park.html

Amenities:
  • ball fields
  • BBQs
  • drinking fountain (inside the community center)
  • multi-use fields
  • Off-street parking
  • picnic tables
  • indoor playground
  • restrooms (inside the community center)
  • walking path
  • splash pad

This park houses the community center (Five Oaks). They tore down the old one and rebuilt the new one, which opened in late 2023. The general public can use it for a daily fee if they aren't members.

A large bench for parents to sit and watch their kids.

They have free wifi and coffee too!

Cute tent and building materials for imaginative play.

Art center for crafting, plus books galore.

I hear the slide is fast, so beware!

A splash pad was added in 2025. It's smallish but a nice addition to the park.  There are 4 sections of pop jets, and one will spray for 10 seconds, then the next section sprays for 10 seconds, and it rotates all around.

The play structure is older and has slides, a rock wall, a tic-tac-toe board, a bridge, and floating steps.

There are 2 sling swings and 2 baby swings in this area, and more swings down the hill.

6 sling swings

The playground and splash pad are on the other side of the park from the community center. You can see the center circled in red at the top of the map, and this playground is at the bottom right, circled in red. It doesn't appear to be easy to walk to.

Webster Groves Water Park at Memorial Park, Webster Groves

Location: 33 E. Glendale Rd, Webster Groves, MO 63119

Website: https://www.webstergrovesmo.gov/188/Water-Park

Amenities:
  • Three pools, including a toddler pool, a leisure pool, and a competitive (lap) pool.
  • Full-service concession area.
  • Bath house with family changing rooms

This water park was completely demolished and rebuilt for the summer of 2025. I didn't think the old pool was that old, but this new pool is very cool and has some unique amenities! They are open every day from 12-8 pm and everyone can attend, you don't need to be a member or resident, you'll just pay more (current rate is $15 per person for everyone over 4).

This is a map of Memorial Park. They have ballfields, a skate park, a pool, an ice rink, a playground, tennis courts, and more. It's a great park!

One interesting thing about this new pool is the lawn games on astroturf. They have Gaga Ball, ping pong, corn hole, and a big chess set. It's so different and fun!

Ping pong table

The concession stand is right at the entrance. We got the flatbread pizza, a pretzel, cheese fries, an ice cream cone, and a soda. The cups they put the soda in are really cool! Fun fact, I used to work for Ball Foster Glass, the company that makes Ball jars, and this cup apparently lol. The food was mid, but the prices are reasonable.

Another different thing they have is a NinjaCross. There are 4 bars to grasp, and then 4 other kinds of bars, and then 4 rings. I never saw anyone get all the way to the other side, so it must be super hard!

Yet another unique feature is the stand-up slide. Apparently, it's the biggest one in the country? I went down it and wasn't impressed. I just basically walked the whole way and almost slipped and fell one time.

The racer and stand-up slides use a run-out design, which does not end in the pool. For those who like to take the plunge and make a splash, the new water park offers a tube slide, similar to the old facility’s slide.

“We are proud to offer features like the tallest stand-up slide in North America, establishing Webster Groves as a trailblazer in community recreation and a destination for thrill seekers across the region and beyond,” said Webster’s Deputy City Manager of Strategic Innovation Scott Davis. (quoted from an article in the Webster-Kirkwood Times.

This is the lazy river and vortex.

They have this aqua zip line too. It's cool cause it automatically retracts after you let go.

This is a wide slide for little kids at the zero-entry pool.

This interactive play area is for children under 48", along with their caregivers. Features include a water slide, a tunnel, a water gun, and sprays.

They have SO MUCH for little kids at this pool.

I love these beach chairs in the water! When I got hot, I could just splash myself; it was amazing.

The last unique feature is this discovery stream, which is a raised channel with lots of dams and gates that kids can open and close. It's on the splash pad with rubberized flooring and is super fun for toddlers.
