Stieren Playground, Sunset Hills

Location: 13408 W. Watson Rd., St. Louis, MO 63127

Playground Ground Cover: Wood chips

Website: https://www.sunset-hills.com/881/Stieren-Inspirational-Site

The Stieren Family Playground opened at the end of 2018 and has some unique features. It's located right across the road from the ball fields. The centerpiece of the playground is a concrete tugboat with a steering wheel and slides. Also, see if you can find all the cute animals on it!

There are 2 baby swings and 6 sling swings.

The 100-foot zipline is awesome!

Next to the playground are 2 small covered pavilions.

Another cool feature is the half-mile trail through the woods with fitness equipment.

They added regular playground equipment during 2023. There is a free-standing web spinner, a modified merry-go-round, and 2 very tall play structures with climbing netting in between.

Sand diggers

Free-standing rock wall

They build a new restroom building at the entrance by the parking lot sometime during 2023. This is a great addition and there are also water fountains.

Crestwood Park, Crestwood

Location: 9700 Meadowfern Dr., Crestwood, MO 63126

Amenities: Playground, picnic shelter, trails, restrooms

Website: https://www.cityofcrestwood.org/Facilities

Playground ground cover: Poured rubber

This park is really cute, and it's tucked into a little neighborhood in Crestwood. The 21-acre park includes a paved mile-long walking trail, a playground, a clean new restroom, three practice softball fields, two soccer fields, two pavilions, a scout fire ring, and two tennis courts.

The playground was renovated in mid-2025 and is so much bigger and better! "With the help of Crestwood’s elected officials and several lucky Long Elementary School students, the two new playgrounds at Crestwood Park officially opened with a ribbon cutting on May 6.

The Crestwood Park playground revamp was made possible by the April 2024 passing of Proposition A, a $33 million ballot measure funding several parks and recreation projects throughout the city. " Quote from a Call Newspapers article from 5/27/25.

The large play structure has it all: 2 stories to climb, a bridge, several tube slides, a pretend window, a steering wheel, and so much more.

Modified merry-go-round

Cute little playhouse with a tunnel

Zipline

There are 2 baby swings, 2 sling swings, an expression swing, and an ADA swing. There is supposed to be a saucer swing on the left end but it appears to already be broken.

There are a bunch of fun stand-alone things, including educational panels, drums, a playhouse, a merry-go-round, a zipline, musical instruments, and more.

This is the walkway to the playground from the parking lot.

This is the smaller playground up the hill. It's completely enclosed with a fence and is next to a pavilion.

The play structure has some slides, a steering wheel, a bead spinner, and a maze/gear board.
