Drace Park, Town and Country

Location: 2310 Cedar Valley Lane, Town & Country, MO 63131

Amenities: playground, picnic shelter, trails, historical log cabins, restroom

Website: https://www.town-and-country.org/143/Drace-Park

Playground ground cover: Astroturf

Drace Park replaced the playground in 2023. The new playground is more natural and I love the astroturf flooring.

The old playground

There is a large parking lot with plenty of parking and a restroom building right at the entrance. It looks like they are building a pavilion but it's not complete yet.

There is a saucer netted swing, a baby swing, an ADA swing, and 2 sling swings.

This wooden tower has climbing grips, a metal slide, and 3 hammocks underneath.

These log cabins are great in family photos

In 2016 they added a nature play area. The playground is cool, but this area in the woods is super cool and not found at many other parks around here. My kids loved playing with the natural materials in the shaded woods!

Xylophone in the Music and Movement area-  but over the years the mallets have disappeared.

The blocks have disappeared as well.

 We miss these scarf hammocks

De Soto Athletic Complex Splash Pad & Playground, De Soto

Location: 800 Vineland School Rd., De Soto, MO 63020

Website: https://desotomo.com/north-park/

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

This splash pad was installed in 2023 and is wonderful. It has 3 levels with water falling down the rocks and stairs. There are rocks here so please be careful and have little guys wear water shoes. It's a very natural setting with boulders, geysers, a stream, and stairs. There are 3 canopies but it's pretty sunny. There is a ledge to sit on as well. To get here after you turn in the park, go left and it's straight back. The road is gravel so you'll have to take it slow.

There are no restrooms but there are 3 port-a-potties.

There is a covered pavilion between the splash pad and the playground.

The playground is all-inclusive with a poured rubber floor.

In addition to maze boards, there are braille and sign language boards.

The large play structure has a rocking boat, drums, ramps, a long tunnel, maze boards, slides, a rolly slide, and lots of bars and poles for climbing.

Spinning seats, modified teeter-totter, and a wheelchair accessible spinner.

Pretend windows

There are 2 high back ADA swings, and 4 modified expression swings.
