Meadows Park, Lake St. Louis

During the winter months the park features an ice rink that hosts public skating, pond hockey games, and additional winter activities. Visitors can enjoy skating or relaxing by one of three fire pits during the skating season.

During the summer months, the ice rink is converted into three pickleball courts, expanding recreational opportunities. Meadows Park also includes a turfed playground and two pavilions, both available for public use (playground area is closed during the winter season). Adjacent to the playground is a splash pad, open to the public during the summer season from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The playground is completely enclosed with a fence and a gate. There are bathrooms right next to the playground and there is lots of shaded seating. The playground is small and perfect for toddlers. 

The playstructure has slides, tunnel, drums, pretend window, and gear board. 

The splash pad has a small bucket that dumps water periodically, pop jets, misters, and a cute octopus. 

Metcalfe Park, University City

Metcalfe Park was built on an old quarry landfill and is located at 830 Kingsland.

An interesting fact about this park is that in 1999, MSD was drilling a new tunnel along Vernon Avenue, causing the park to sink 4 to 5 feet overnight.  The park was restored to its original condition by 2001.

This playground was replaced in 2025. It has a play structure for kids 2-5 years old and one for kids over 5.

Mitchell Park, Kirkwood

Playground Ground Cover: Astroturf

This pocket park is small and best suited for toddlers. There are 2 play structures.  The smaller one has a few slides on it and a steering wheel. The larger one has some slides, a chain climber, a maze board, and other cool climbing things. There are some benches, a picnic table, some drinking fountains, and no bathrooms. 

This little creek with running water and dam gates is fun! 

There is 1 baby swing, 2 sling swings, and an ADA high-back swing.
