Sylvan Springs Park, Mehlville

Location:  300 Halsey Road, Saint Louis, MO 63125
(note there are multiple entrances into the park, and the playground/sprayground are located at the corner of Boundary Rd. and Sherman Ave)

Amenities: playground, tennis courts, sprayground, picnic shelters, skate park, fitness trail

Website: https://stlouiscountymo.gov/st-louis-county-departments/parks/places/sylvan-springs-park/

Playground ground cover: poured rubber

The playground and splashpad are in full sun, but there are nice stone-shaded shelters across the parking lot to picnic in. The playground has 2 baby swings and 2 sling swings, a couple bouncy motorcycles, a boat (it spins but is very difficult to turn), a small climbing structure with 2 slides, a climbing wall, and a climbing chain rope. The bathrooms are clean and located right next to the playground which is nice.

The sprayground is really the highlight of this park. There are pop jets and an arch that sprays water down on anyone who walks thru it. It's large compared to a lot of splash pads in town and has a variety of water play. There is no fence around the playground/sprayground area and it's not too far from the main road, so make sure to watch your little runners!

Large covered pavilion with BBQ pits next to the playground

The skate park is not too far away. It's large and has a lot of great features and is open to skateboards, BMX bikes, scooters, and rollerblades.

South County Center Indoor Playground, Mehlville- GONE

Location: 18 South County Center Way, Mehlville, MO 63129

Website: http://www.shopsouthcountycenter.com/

South County mall had an indoor playground upstairs but they built this new one recently in the food court and said they took the other one out. I'm glad because this one is way cooler, and it's a better location. I suggest parking near Qdoba because it's right inside that entrance.  This playground is different than the other mall playgrounds, as it's all Fisher Price toys you can climb on. My kids have always loved trains and Thomas so they really enjoyed it. If you have a train lover check these other activities out as well.

There is plenty of seating and the bathrooms and drinking fountains are right there as well.

They have 4 coin operated vehicles close to the playground also.

The food court is circled in red, and if you park by Qdoba you'll come in the mall where the arrow is. It's the closest entrance or you could go through JC Penny.

AS OF EARLY 2024 THE PLAYGROUND IS GONE
