Brooks Park, Overland

Location: 9625 Cote Brilliante Ave., Overland, MO 63114

Amenities: picnic tables, playground, baseball field, restrooms

Website: http://www.overlandmo.org/index.aspx?NID=240

Playground ground cover: wood chips

Robert Brooks park is a small neighborhood park. The playground equipment has several slides of various heights, and lots of different apparatuses to balance and hang on. There are 2 sling swings on the swing set. The equipment is really too big for toddlers but perfect for preschool and school-aged kids. The baseball field gives kids a large area to run around in. Running between the playground and the field is a creek, and there's a wooden bridge that connects the two areas. The creek looks inviting to kids, but there is a sign at the front of the park stating "Warning, do not play, swim or fish. Possible sewage overflow. Exposure to water may cause illness."

Woodson Park, Overland

Location: 1655 Woodson Rd, Overland, MO 63114

Website: http://overlandmo.org/241/Woodson-Road-Park

Playground Ground Cover: Pea Gravel

This park is older but in good condition. This park is 6.5 acres and has a gazebo, 5 lighted tennis courts, and electricity at the gazebo.

There are no swings here but the play structure is a decent size. It has several slides, a steering wheel, a bridge, and tons of bars and poles. I just hate that it has pea gravel. This park is best suited for bigger kids.

Mort Jacobs Park, Overland

Location: 2855 Krem Ave., Overland, MO 63114

Website: https://www.overlandmo.org/Facilities/Facility/Details/Mort-Jacobs-Park-10

Playground Ground Cover: poured rubber

This park is amazing. It's new and quiet and pretty and has everything, even a creek. It was redone in Dec 2017 and includes 2 play structures, musical equipment, modified merry go round, boulders and logs to climb, and a large spiderweb climber.

The large play structure is 3 stories tall so probably not the best for toddlers.

There is a baby swing, an adaptive swing, and 4 sling swings

The small play structure has drums, a steering wheel, tic tac toe board, and a slide

The creek is down that path

This playground was not busy when we visited and the neighborhood is quiet and cute. This is definitely a great park to play in!

Norm Myers Park, Overland

Location: 8700 Midland Blvd, Overland, MO 63114

Website: http://overlandmo.org/239/Norman-Myers-Park

Playground Ground Cover: Pea Gravel

This playground has older equipment but it's in good condition. There are bathrooms here too but I didn't get to go inside and check them out because they were locked.  This park is 7 acres and has 2 unlit baseball diamonds, picnic areas, 2 fields, and electricity at the pavilion.

The pavilion is very large and right next to the playground which is great.

There are 2 sling swings and no baby swings. This playground is best suited for kids over 5.

The fact that it has pea gravel is a bummer, but the play structure is large. There are bridges, several slides, and tons of bars and poles.
