Website: http://stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/parks/parks/view-park.cfm?parkID=108&parkName=Joe%20Leisure%20Park

Playground ground cover: Poured rubber

This is a small little park. There are 2 play structures with lots of slides and things to climb on. Unfortunately, there are no swings, which is my girl's favorite thing to do, but there are bathrooms (no changing stations). The playground is enclosed with a fence.

Discovery Playground, Jaycee Park, St. Charles

Location: 2805 Elm Street, St. Charles, MO 63301

Amenities: playground, picnic shelter, sprayground, restrooms

Website: http://www.stcharlesparks.com/park/jaycee-park/

Playground ground cover: rubber mats

This is an amazing playground. So much for the kids to do! The entire playground is fenced with only 2 exits, so you can let the kids explore. There's a toddler area with a butterfly to climb on, a small slide, and a tunnel. The larger playground area has a spinning rope merry-go-round which was probably the biggest hit of the playground. The playground has ramps to enter it, and several slides, including one that is metal. There's also a roller slide on the playground. There's a music area (although the instruments are situated a little too high for little kids to reach). The swing area has 2 sling swings, 2 baby swings, and 2 adaptive swings, plus a saucer swing.

Be sure to pack a swimsuit and towel because there's also a sprayground area with a shallow man-made creek, a waterfall, and sprays that shoot up randomly.

There are some shade elements attached to the playground structure, but I am disappointed with the pergola located next to the toddler playground. With a few more boards across the top, it would provide shade to parents watching their kids play.
