Ratz Memorial Park, Red Bud IL

Location: 603 W. Market St., Red Bud, IL 62278

Website: https://www.cityofredbud.org/parks--recreation.html

Playground Ground Cover: Wood Chips

This park has several unique playgrounds. 2 of them are very dated, from the 1970s. Amenities include barbeque grills, multiple playgrounds, restrooms, a soccer field, swings, and volleyball. Ratz Memorial Park has 4 pavilions you can rent for your next event.

This first playground is enclosed by a fence and is partly shaded. There are also restrooms right next to it so that's a big bonus.

The play structure has a chain climber, slides, floating steppers, a circular spinner, and lots of bars and poles for climbing.

There are 2 baby swings

This next playground is the oldest in the park, it has a free-standing slide, an old school jungle gym, and another old climber shaped like an old wagon. The slide says "Class of '74" on the side.

This wooden structure has a bridge and a pole.

Expression swing

4 sling swings

This 3rd playground seems to be the newest, and it has monkey bars, a slide, and a small rock wall.

The pool is actually a YMCA.

Pumpkin Blossom Hill, Red Bud IL

Location: 5483 State Rt 154, Red Bud, IL 62278

Website: https://www.pumpkinblossomhill.com/

This is a small family-owned pumpkin patch in Red Bud IL. There is no admission fee and they offer lots of fun for kids. They have a corn pit, slides, swings, a tractor playground, Thomas the Train, a yellow submarine, a four-car wooden train, and a corn maze. They sell kettle corn, some bottled drinks, ice cream bars, and have a cute shop.

I think this patch is best suited for kids under 5. I don't think there's a whole lot here for older kids.
