Babler State Park offers an escape from the urban St. Louis area, close enough for a day trip, or even an overnight trip, as the park features a campground. There is one playground in the park, but there aren't any signs directing you to it. To get to the playground go past the visitor center, then take a right on "Guy Park Drive." Then a right into the "Guy Park Trail Head" parking lot. The playground is near the trail head and nestled under huge shady trees. The playground is more suited to preschoolers and school-aged children, there are some slides, a tunnel and some other places to climb. It's missing a ring on the hanging hand-over-hand rings area.

There is a wide open grassy field next to the playground which would be great for catch, frisbee, etc. Next to the playground is a picnic table, and an old stone water fountain base, but there's no longer a working water fountain in it.
