300 Halsey Road
Saint Louis, MO 63125
(note there are multiple entrances into the park, and the playground/sprayground are located at the corner of Boundary Rd. and Sherman Ave)
Amenities: playground, tennis courts, sprayground, picnic shelters, skate park
Playground ground cover: poured rubber
The playground and sprayground are in full sun, but there are nice stone shaded shelters across the parking lot to picnic in. The playground has 2 baby swings and 2 sling swings, a couple bouncy motorcycles, a boat (that spins but it is very difficult to turn anymore), a small climbing structure with 2 slides, a climbing wall and a climbing chain rope. The bathrooms are clean and located right next to the playground which is nice. The poured rubber on the playground is neat in how they made it look like a river running thru the playground but it is in bad shape, there are large spaces between the different colors, which you can see in the pictures below.
The sprayground is really the highlight of this park. There are pop jets and an arch that sprays water down on anyone who walks thru it. There is no fence around the playground/sprayground area and it's not too far from a main road, so make sure to watch your little runners!
There is talk that this park will be given to Jefferson Barricks to expand the cemetary, but as far as I know, nothing has been finalized yet. Here are some links regarding the decision:
