Conway Park, Creve Coeur

Location: 12301 Conway Road, Creve Coeur, MO 63141

Amenities: trail, tennis courts, playground, historic log cabins, dog park

Website: http://www.creve-coeur.org/index.aspx?NID=284

Playground ground cover: Poured rubber

The playground has just one structure, but it is large and has areas for all ages to play. It has slides, rock walls, steering wheels, pretend storefronts, stepping stones, and tons of bars and poles. I would have LOVED the rope cube when I was a kid.

There's also a dog park here, so my daughter got to pet lots of doggies which she loved.

Tennis Courts

Picnic tables

These log cabins are amazing! There are 2 and they are called the Hackmann Clester Cabins. The first cabin was home to the Hackmann Family from 1842 – 1925. Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Hackmann and their son John Henry arrived in America in 1841 from Germany. The cabin was built in two phases. The earliest room is restored in the pioneer style. Around 1870, John Henry and his wife, Catherine Buescher, added a kitchen, dining room, porch and covered the building with clapboard. The latter room is restored in the Victorian period. Their son, Herman H., and his wife Louise Richt reared 10 children here.

Restroom building is very clean! This park is beautifully maintained and we really love coming here.

Norm Myers Park, Overland

Location: 8700 Midland Blvd, Overland, MO 63114

Website: http://overlandmo.org/239/Norman-Myers-Park

Playground Ground Cover: Pea Gravel

This playground has older equipment but it's in good condition. There are bathrooms here too but I didn't get to go inside and check them out because they were locked.  This park is 7 acres and has 2 unlit baseball diamonds, picnic areas, 2 fields, and electricity at the pavilion.

The pavilion is very large and right next to the playground which is great.

There are 2 sling swings and no baby swings. This playground is best suited for kids over 5.

The fact that it has pea gravel is a bummer, but the play structure is large. There are bridges, several slides, and tons of bars and poles.

Wehner Park, Shrewsbury

Location: 7600 Hazel Ave, St Louis, MO 63119

Amenities: Wehner Park is Shrewsbury’s largest park consisting of 31.8 acres. This park contains three ball fields, one soccer field, two pavilions, two playgrounds, and two tennis courts.

Website: http://cityofshrewsbury.com/parks.htm

Playground ground cover: Poured Rubber and Wood Chips

Wehner redid the main playground in November of 2017. They have a structure for the littles and one for the bigs.

They have one adaptive swing, one baby swing, and 2 sling swings.

The structure for toddlers has a slide, a tic tac toe board, a speaker phone, steering wheel, and various bars and poles.

They have a metal slide built into the hill.

There is a netting climber attached to a netting tunnel leading from the bigger play structure.

The bathroom building is right next to the playground.

The bigger play structure has it all...bridges, tunnels, pretend windows, climbing wall, slides, and poles.

The second playground is to the east of the main playground. You could walk to it from the main playground but it's a hike.

I LOVE this second playground because it's almost all completely shaded! That is so hard to find! It is a very pretty park, with a lovely creek bed and trees everywhere. The playground was pretty large and had 2 different play structures. The bigger structure has 2 slides, a rock wall, and a bridge, and the smaller one has 2 slides and a tunnel. There are 2 different swings, one contains an adaptive swing and 2 sling swings, and the other one has 4 baby swings and 2 sling swings. There are also 2 ride on toys, a bee and a horse. Right in the middle there is a covered pavilion with lots of picnic tables and a grill. They also have a chess table in the woods. Parking is nearby just follow the path. Only negative would be that there is not a real bathroom or changing station, just a port-a-potty.
