Citizens Park, Belleville

Location: 317 S. 44th St., Belleville, IL 62226

Website: https://www.belleville.net/Facilities/Facility/Details/Citizens-Park-3

Playground Ground Cover: Pea Gravel

This is the city of Belleville's largest park at 45 acres. It is a highly recreational park with two large lighted softball diamonds and a first-class baseball field named for Whitey Herzog, which serves as the home field for the American Legion and Althoff High School baseball teams.
In addition to the ball diamonds at Citizens Park, the park also offers BMX bicycle ramps for the dare-devils, along with other recreational amenities. Citizens is also a very nice place to have a quiet picnic during lunch. Two modular playgrounds for children and three picnic shelters are available for family picnics.

The play structure is older but still in good condition. It has several slides, monkey bars, a rock wall, a tunnel, a tic-tac-toe board, and bars and poles for climbing.

Eckert's Farm, Belleville

Location: 951 S. Greenmount Rd., Belleville, IL 62220

Website: https://www.eckerts.com/

Eckert's changes throughout the year, depending on the season. They have 3 farm locations, and this farm is considered to be the main one. They also have Grafton and Millstadt which are seasonal and not open all year round. Their apple and pumpkin fests have an admission fee which gets you access to everything in the corral.

The fun corral is a permanent fixture here and inside there are various activities, such as mini golf, sandbox, petting zoo, and pedal tractors. Most of the rides and extra activities are only operated on the weekends or during their many seasonal festivals.

The Garden Gift Shop

The night we were here they were having a free outdoor concert with food trucks. They also have cooking classes, a restaurant, and lots of other special events throughout the year.  There is another orchard really close to Eckerts called Brauetigams and it is another great option. Plus they have the best apple cider donuts and slushies ever made!
