Centennial Farms and Orchard, Augusta

Location: 199 Jackson St, Augusta, MO 63332      636-228-4338

Website: http://centennialfarms.biz/

This farm has been around forever, and in the fall it's really cute. "Pumpkin picking has started and our yearly transformation into Pumpkin Fantasyland is underway. Walk into our farmstead and be surrounded by pumpkin characters and Halloween fun. We decorate with full-size pumpkin and gourd figures representing farm folks, storybook characters, and some of your favorite movie characters. There are aliens and a crashed spaceship. A graveyard has some very humorous inscriptions, most of them from real cemeteries. Mixed in with the figures are hundreds of pumpkins from minis to some big ones."

That red barn is 160 years old and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Playground Ground Cover: Wood Chips

There is a large playground located right next to the main parking lot. It doesn't have any swings but there are several slides - all different sizes, and a jungle gym climbing area. The playground was clean and in good condition. During the day the playground is pretty empty but it is probably packed when a sporting event is going on.

There is a second playground on the property a bit to the West of this first one, it's shown at the end of the post.

The playground is right behind this restroom and concession building.

This playground is for kids over 5 and has a bubble window, pretend window, tunnels, slides, and lots of bars and poles for climbing.

The second playground is definitely not as nice as the first one. It's just one play structure and it has a tunnel, a bubble window, monkey bars, and some slides. It's over by the soccer fields to the west.
