The J Outdoor Pool, Creve Coeur

Location: 2 Millstone Campus Dr., Creve Coeur, MO 63146

Website: https://jccstl.com/fitness-recreation/swimming-aquatic-center/

The Jewish Community Center (better known simply as "the J") has a state-of-the-art outdoor pool facility. If you're not a member you can pay a daily rate for adults and for kids. As far as public pools go, that rate is higher than most, however, this is a wonderful facility and you get a lot for that money. With 25-meter and 25-yard lap swimming, huge curly-q slide, diving board, tree swing, and aqua climb wall, the J is proud to offer one of the coolest and most fun outdoor pools in St. Louis.  The pool is open from 12:30-8:00 p.m. during the week, 10:30-7:30 on Friday, and 10-7:30 on weekends. They also have a tot time! It's from 11-12:30 pm Monday through Thursday for kids 5 and under.

The climbing wall and a tree rope swing are just like the ones at the North Pointe pool.

Ideal for smaller children, this zero-entry depth pool with large umbrellas, water spouts, a wading area, and a toddler aqua play gym is perfect for families who are ready to introduce their children to water fun.

Fountain Park, Creve Coeur

Location: 11915 Olive Boulevard, Creve Coeur, MO 63141

Website: http://www.creve-coeur.org/index.aspx?NID=284

Playground ground cover: Wood chips

Fountain Park is not a destination park, but it isn't a bad spot to stop if you're in the area and have some time to kill. The park is right next to Olive Blvd. so there's traffic noise. There is a small play structure with a couple of slides, a pretend window, steering wheel, and small tunnel. It's in the parking lot of the Creve Coeur Shopping Center. The fountain was not on (and we visited in May).

Conway Park, Creve Coeur

Location: 12301 Conway Road, Creve Coeur, MO 63141

Amenities: trail, tennis courts, playground, historic log cabins, dog park

Website: http://www.creve-coeur.org/index.aspx?NID=284

Playground ground cover: Poured rubber

The playground has just one structure, but it is large and has areas for all ages to play. It has slides, rock walls, steering wheels, pretend storefronts, stepping stones, and tons of bars and poles. I would have LOVED the rope cube when I was a kid.

There's also a dog park here, so my daughter got to pet lots of doggies which she loved.

These log cabins are amazing! There are 2 and they are called the Hackmann Clester Cabins. The first cabin was home to the Hackmann Family from 1842 – 1925. Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Hackmann and their son John Henry arrived in America in 1841 from Germany. The cabin was built in two phases. The earliest room is restored in the pioneer style. Around 1870, John Henry and his wife, Catherine Buescher, added a kitchen, dining room, porch and covered the building with clapboard. The latter room is restored in the Victorian period. Their son, Herman H., and his wife Louise Richt reared 10 children here.

Restroom building is very clean! This park is beautifully maintained and we really love coming here.

Miss Kelly's Open Gym, Creve Coeur

Location: 12802 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, MO 63141 (in Bellerive Plaza)

Website: http://misskellysgym.com/index.html

There were one or two people working around the room helping kids on and off the balance beam and the bars. A few times they blew bubbles and the kids really enjoyed that. I don't know if it was because of spring break or what but it was packed when we went. They had one restroom in the gym area and one out in the hall.

Despite the fact that they didn't have some of my daughter's favorite equipment (trampoline and trapeze), she had a blast. They were really nice to my friend when she asked for a refund for her 11 month old. Under a year should be free but when she first came in they charged her $16 for her 2 kids. When the session was over she asked them about it and they refunded her $8. The staff was helpful and seemed to enjoy helping the kids.

This photo is older, check their website for current dates and times of open gym. It varies semester to semester.

They had music playing and lots of balls out on the mats for the little ones
