John L. Brown Park, Woodson Terrace

Location: 4301 Calvert Ave, St. Louis, MO 63134

Website: http://woodsonterrace.net/Departments/Public-Works-Home/Parks/

Playground Ground Cover: Wood Chips

What a great park! The park has 2 big pavilions, nice restrooms near the playground, a community pool (but unfortunately it's only open to residents and their guests) and a new playground installed in 2019. The playstructure is partly shaded which is rare and wonderful.

There are 2 baby swings, and 2 sling swings.

The large play structure has slides,  pretend boards, ladders, and so many things to climb on.

Free standing boogie board

You can see the parking lot in the background

The small play structure has stepping stones, a slide, small climbing wall, drums, and a tunnel.

Janet Majerus Park, University City

Location: Raymond and Partridge Aves, University City, MO 63130

Website: http://www.ucitymo.org/105/Parks

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

This playground was redone in 2019 and has some really great features. The colors are bright and there are tons of things to climb on. The play structure for older kids has floating steps, a rock wall, and a chain climber. The play structure for little guys has a slide, 2 maze boards, and more things to climb on.

I like the covered picnic tables in the center of the playground.

This is the start of the 1/3 mile walking trail complete with fitness stations.

There is one baby swing, one adaptive swing, one modified expression swing, and 2 sling swings.

Beautiful lake near the playground!

There is lots of street parking but no restrooms.

The J Outdoor Pool, Creve Coeur

Location: 2 Millstone Campus Dr., Creve Coeur, MO 63146

Website: https://jccstl.com/fitness-recreation/swimming-aquatic-center/

The Jewish Community Center (better known simply as "the J") has a state-of-the-art outdoor pool facility. If you're not a member you can pay a daily rate for adults and for kids. As far as public pools go, that rate is higher than most, however, this is a wonderful facility and you get a lot for that money. With 25-meter and 25-yard lap swimming, huge curly-q slide, diving board, tree swing, and aqua climb wall, the J is proud to offer one of the coolest and most fun outdoor pools in St. Louis.  The pool is open from 12:30-8:00 p.m. during the week, 10:30-7:30 on Friday, and 10-7:30 on weekends. They also have a tot time! It's from 11-12:30 pm Monday through Thursday for kids 5 and under.

The climbing wall and a tree rope swing are just like the ones at the North Pointe pool.

Ideal for smaller children, this zero-entry depth pool with large umbrellas, water spouts, a wading area, and a toddler aqua play gym is perfect for families who are ready to introduce their children to water fun.

Jake's Field of Dreams Playground in Heartland Park, Wentzville

Location: 100 William Dierberg Dr, Wentzville, MO 63385

Playground Ground Cover: Rubber mats

Jake's Field of Dreams is the latest playground from the amazing Unlimited Play company.  It's all sports themed and it's amazing. It's also enclosed with a fence which is always great.

"At an early age, Jake was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which causes severe muscle weakness and worsens quickly. He was 19 when he passed away in 2012.

“He always wanted to play sports,” said Amie Bossi, Unlimited Play development director.

Jake’s spirit — and love for sports — will live on forever. Unlimited Play, a non-profit organization based in St. Charles County, is currently in the final stages of fundraising to build an all-inclusive playground in Wentzville. Named Jake’s Field of Dreams, it will be located at Heartland Park, located at 100 William Dierberg Dr.

The design of the playground recognizes Jake’s love of sports. Some of the features include a replica of a baseball field, climbing bars that mimic a football helmet and a zip line between two football goal posts." (Quoted from this article.)

The entrance to the park includes a mister

There are 2 ziplines, one for kids who can sit or stand on the disk, and one seat style for kids to sit back and enjoy.

Lots of musical instruments covered by awnings

Rocking boat which looks like a Zamboni

 Big spinning climber

Both of the play structures have ramps. This one is for the younger kids and has steering wheels, slides, and some activity boards.

Rolley slide

Large play structure with many unique features. It's made to look like Busch Stadium and includes a scavenger hunt which is awesome!
