Mackenzie Hills Park, Affton

Location: Mackenzie Rd. and Deerpath Dr., St. Louis, MO 63123

Amenities: Playground, basketball court, ball field

Website: none

Playground ground cover: pea gravel

This playground is so secluded I can't find anything online to prove it even exists except for my pictures! It is down a hill and next to a creek in a subdivision in Shrewsbury. I like it because I have never seen anyone else playing there, but I don't really like the pea gravel. It is small, with just the basketball court and ball field adjacent to the playground. There are no buildings or bathrooms nearby, but there are benches.

Small creek next to the playground

Big slide going down the hill to the playground

Teeter Totter, 3 sling swings, and 1 baby swing.

Brinkop Park, Shrewsbury

Location: 4800 Laurella Ave, Shrewsbury, MO 63119

Website: http://cityofshrewsbury.com/parks.htm

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

There are 2 areas, one for the littles and one for the bigger kids. The little structure has 2 slides, a little climber, a tunnel, and a dino to ride on. There are 2 sling swings, one adaptive swing, and one baby swing. The larger structure has a few different slides, tons of climbing things, a rock wall, a rope wall, drums, poles, bars, and more.

In addition to the new playground, the park also has a ball field, multi-purpose court, pavilion, and restroom. The reason they have a new playground is because someone set the old one on fire.

Hartry Park, Shrewsbury

Location: 4100 Exeter Ave, Shrewsbury, MO 63119

Amenities: playground, trails, basketball court

Website: http://cityofshrewsbury.com/parks.htm

Playground ground cover: wood chips

This playground was completely renovated in early 2021. My favorite thing about it is that it's almost completely shaded. That is so hard to find. Also, it's fenced in! There is a basketball court adjacent to the playground that is perfect for playing with the balls that we brought. There is also a nice pathway that winds around the park that my daughter enjoyed walking and running on. The playground equipment is great for climbing,  They only have a porta-potty and not a real restroom, but I suppose it's better than nothing. The park is very quiet on a residential street and there was no one else there the whole time we were there.

The old play structure

Porta-potty

Nice large green space

They took out the swings and they just have a saucer swing now.

The play structure has a large slide, lots of stepping stones, ropes, a climbing wall, monkey bars, and other random climbing things.
