St. George Park, Affton

Location: 9041 Southview Ln, St. Louis, MO 63123

Website: https://stlouiscountymo.gov/st-louis-county-departments/parks/places/st-george-park/

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

This playground is a bit difficult to find. I plugged in the official address of 9041 Southview Ln. into my GPS and set off. I could see the playground equipment behind the houses but never saw a park entrance. All the houses had fenced-in backyards and I was confused as to how to get back there. There was another street in the subdivision behind it so I went out on Mackenzie and went there but still never saw any park entrance. I looked again at my map and was totally confused. I asked some people outside if they knew how to get there and they did! They told me to go back to where I originally was. I did that and lo and behold I saw the entrance. It's very easy to miss because it looks like someone's driveway.

See how confusing that is? Drive along the right side of the fence and this comes into view.

Also technically this was created when St. George was a municipality, but it has since ceased to exist, so this area is technically unincorporated.

The park consists of a basketball court, a couple picnic benches, a BBQ pit, and 2 play structures. There are slides, a tunnel, a baby swing, a sling swing, and an ADA swing.

Park is circled in red with the entrance marked by the red arrow. Such a strange configuration! But I bet it's nice for the people who live in this subdivision.

Bohrer Park, South County

Location: 5705 South Lindbergh, St. Louis, MO 63123

Amenities: playground, picnic shelter, trails, playground, restroom, ball fields, tennis courts, horseshoe pits

Website: https://stlouiscountymo.gov/st-louis-county-departments/parks/places/bohrer-park/

Playground ground cover: Poured rubber

This playground was redone in 2018. The old playground desperately needed to be replaced and this new one is awesome! They got rid of the dreaded pea gravel and replaced it with poured rubber. They also added an expression swing and a zipline!

There is playground equipment spread out everywhere, not the usual one for bigs and one for littles configuration. They have a small slide, a spinning seat, a rope climber, a rock wall climber, a zip line, swings, and a spray pole.

They have an adaptive swing, a baby swing, and 2 sling swings at the playground proper. There are older ones down the path in the shade as well.

They kept the old sling swings down the path toward the pond

The bathrooms are still old with no doors on the stalls, but at least they have them.
