Mackenzie Hills Park, Affton

Location: Mackenzie Rd. and Deerpath Dr., St. Louis, MO 63123

Amenities: Playground, basketball court, ball field

Website: none

Playground ground cover: pea gravel

This playground is so secluded I can't find anything online to prove it even exists except for my pictures! It is down a hill and next to a creek in a subdivision in Shrewsbury. I like it because I have never seen anyone else playing there, but I don't really like the pea gravel. It is small, with just the basketball court and ball field adjacent to the playground. There are no buildings or bathrooms nearby, but there are benches.

Small creek next to the playground

Big slide going down the hill to the playground

Teeter Totter, 3 sling swings, and 1 baby swing.

Greensfelder Park, Pacific

Location: 4515 Hencken Rd, Pacific MO 63069

Website: https://stlouiscountymo.gov/st-louis-county-departments/parks/places/greensfelder-park/

Playground Ground Cover: Poured rubber

Amenities: Laying at the foothills of the gently rolling Ozark mountain range, Greensfelder Park features lovely shaded trails and spectacular views, horse boarding, equestrian and group camping, hayrides, trails, a nature learning center, picnic sites, and shelters, a playground, and an orienteering course.

This is a great playground, and it looks to be fairly new. It features one baby swing and one sling swing, a big rock wall, some modern teeter totters, and various other activities on the big play structure. The bathrooms are really nice and clean as well. Not a lot of shade but plenty of benches. The playground is located near the Dogwood Pavilion.

Minnie Ha Ha Park, Sunset Hills

Location: 801 Old Gravois Rd, Sunset Hills MO 63127

Website: http://www.sunset-hills.com/455/Minnie-HaHa-Park

Amenities: 3 playgrounds, picnic shelters, soccer fields, walking trails, and scenic views of the Meramec River

Playground Ground Cover: Wood chips

These are photos from the first playground you come to upon entering the park, near shelter D. There is a zipline, a climbing structure, slides, 2 baby swings, and 2 sling swings. All 3 playgrounds are shaded and have small pavilions and restrooms nearby.

Playground #2.
This playground is by shelter F. It's more nestled into the woods and very shaded. It's older but it has some nice features, including a rocking horse, 2 baby swings, 2 sling swings, a teeter-totter, and a zipline track.

The BMX area has a big track, pavilion, and restrooms.

Playground #3
This is the last playground in the park, and the one nearest to the river.  One cool feature is a lookout with binoculars for the kids to climb up and look out over the river. There is a digger with a scoop in a sandbox to manipulate, a rock wall, monkey bars, a balance beam, 2 sling swings, and 2 baby swings.

You could easily walk the entire park, stop to play at all three playgrounds on the trails that wind their way around, and then spend time down at the beach.
