DeMun Park, Clayton

Location: 810 DeMun Ave, Clayton, MO 63105

Playground ground cover: Wood chips

This is a small little neighborhood playground in Clayton. I like it because it's fenced in and the equipment is all small so it's perfect for toddlers. There are drinking fountains and restrooms. It is also right next door to an adorable candy shop.

Clayton replaced the play equipment in the summer of 2019. The park is shaped like a long rectangle with 2 separate play areas, one at each end of the park. I have seen kids on their bikes and riding toys on the paths that connect the two.

The play structure for little guys has a couple of slides, some free-standing maze boards, 2 sling swings, 1 baby swing, and an adorable little Kaldi's playhouse.

On the other end of the park is the play equipment for kids over 5. The play structure has a rolly slide, a climbing boulder, a regular slide, a pretend window, and some monkey bars.  There are 2 sling swings and 1 baby swing. There are several musical instruments, including two drums and a xylophone.  They also have some stepping stones and a forked balance beam.

Cute flower bed in the corner.

Tiny little picnic tables!

Warson Park, Olivette

Location: 9723 Grandview Dr, Olivette, MO 63132

Website: http://www.olivetteparksandrec.com/warson-park.html

Amenities:
  • ball fields
  • BBQs
  • drinking fountain (inside the community center)
  • multi-use fields
  • Off-street parking
  • picnic tables
  • indoor playground
  • restrooms (inside the community center)
  • walking path
  • splash pad

This park houses the community center (Five Oaks). They tore down the old one and rebuilt the new one, which opened in late 2023. The general public can use it for a daily fee if they aren't members.

A large bench for parents to sit and watch their kids.

They have free wifi and coffee too!

Cute tent and building materials for imaginative play.

Art center for crafting, plus books galore.

I hear the slide is fast, so beware!

A splash pad was added in 2025. It's smallish but a nice addition to the park.  There are 4 sections of pop jets, and one will spray for 10 seconds, then the next section sprays for 10 seconds, and it rotates all around.

The play structure is older and has slides, a rock wall, a tic-tac-toe board, a bridge, and floating steps.

There are 2 sling swings and 2 baby swings in this area, and more swings down the hill.

6 sling swings

The playground and splash pad are on the other side of the park from the community center. You can see the center circled in red at the top of the map, and this playground is at the bottom right, circled in red. It doesn't appear to be easy to walk to.
