Family Sundays at the Art Museum, St. Louis City

Location: 1 Fine Arts Dr, St. Louis, MO 63110

Website: http://www.slam.org/education/families.php

The Art Museum has had these Family Sundays for a while and we finally got to go check it out. They are trying to encourage more families to come visit. I have never taken my kids there because there's absolutely nothing for them to do. They can't touch anything and I think running through there screaming is probably frowned upon! But now that they are older they love crafting so we went to make some crafts.

It's easy to find, it's in the Griggs Gallery which is right off the main hall. They will direct you and you will see this sign.

Everything is free and is open from 1-4 p.m. This time they were making little canvas bags.

Stop here to find out what the activity is and get your supplies. Then find a seat and get busy!

My kids loved the animal stencils and made a picture on each side of the bag. He chose a turtle and a dragonfly, she chose a butterfly and drew pictures of herself on the back LOL. The bag is sturdy and the perfect size for them to carry their little treasures around. They loved coloring on it and making it their own!

They also offer free guided tours at 2:30 but we had to be somewhere so maybe we'll check that out next time.

Website: http://www.stpetersmo.net/st-peters-parks.aspx#rabbitrun

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

There are 2 sling swings, and 2 baby swings. There are 3 different slides, bridges, stepping stones, bouncing thing, maze boards, and lots of poles are bars. This playground is in full sun but the covered pavilion is close.

Small worn path down to the smaller part of the creek next to the playground.

Nice newer restrooms and large pavilion next to the playground

On this map the playground is circled in red. You can see Dardenne creek goes all around the park and it's very large in spots. I didn't go looking to see how easy it is to get into but just wanted to post in case anyone wanted to see the layout of the creek.

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

This playground is surrounded by gorgeous gardens. You can tell the residents of this neighborhood take amazing care of this park. The playground has 2 baby swings and 2 sling swings. There are 2 play structures, one for big kids and one for littles. The smaller one has a bridge, a couple slides, and some bars and poles. The larger one has several slides, a bubble window, a tic tac toe board, a bridge, and lots of bars and poles. The playground is in great condition and the spray pole stays on all the time too. Everything was clean and I didn't see any trash. Unfortunately I didn't see any restrooms.
