Challenger Learning Center, Ferguson

Location: 205 Brotherton Ln., Ferguson, MO 63135

Website: https://www.challengerstl.org/

This is a wonderful facility, and I wish more people knew about it. This blurb from their website explains their mission perfectly- "The award-winning Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis provides simulated space missions, science education and teambuilding programs. The core experience at the center is a two-hour simulated space mission featuring an orbiting space station and a Mission Control center. All programs offered by the Challenger Learning Center provide meaningful and engaging science, technology, engineering, and math activities as well as a focus on team-building, cooperation, and critical and creative thinking skills. Programs are available for students, educators, corporations, scouts, community groups and the general public."

They have several different programs, such as the Jr. Astronaut for kids 6-11, and the full space mission for kids over 11. The do birthday parties and scouting events, and community events as well. I highly encourage anyone who has kiddos interested in space and/or science to sign up for a mission!

Behlmann Park, Florisssant

Location: 919 Loeckes Dr., Florissant, MO 63031

Website: https://www.florissantmo.com/egov/apps/locations/facilities.egov?view=detail&id=12

Playground Ground Cover: Wood chips

This playground is a bit hard to find. There are no markers or signage. You can drive down Loeckes Dr. until you get to 919 Loeckes. There's an empty field there and if you walk into it and look to your right you'll see the playground down a ways.

There is a basketball court to the left, the playground is to the right.

There is just one play structure and it has 2 slides, a balance beam, a tic tac toe board, a steering wheel, and some bars and poles.

There is one picnic bench to sit on, but no shade or restrooms.

This map shows how to get in to the park and the playground is circled in red.  It's basically just a big green space between subdivisions.
