The coolest thing about this park is the basketball court. In 2017, the park basketball courts were renovated and turned into a piece of art, with murals painted by local artist William LaChance. The project was funded by Project Backboard, a non-profit organization dedicated to using these unique courts renovations as "a way to inspire multiple generations, and get people back together." Here's an overhead view from the website Courts of the World.

"Developed in the mid-1960s, the original
park featured a spray pool, playground, lighted ball fields, tennis
courts, basketball courts, and a picnic shelter. Today, only the shelter
and basketball courts remain.
The park serves a disadvantaged area of North County and, while once
quite popular, the lack of amenities and poor conditions has caused a
steep decline in use. The residents of Kinloch deserve a refurbished
recreational area for community well-being and, through an online
survey, have requested basic amenities such as working restrooms, a
renovated picnic shelter equipped with new bar-b-que pits, a
playground, a refurbished ball field, and a new walking trail.
The Foundation supports the Master Plan put forth by the St. Louis
County Parks Department to restore Kinloch Park as a family meeting
area and a recreational space for the community. You can help by
donating at various membership levels but please be sure to mark your
donation specifically for Kinloch Park. Any donation so indicated will
be reserved specifically for the work on Kinloch Park." From the St. Louis County Parks Foundation.
They are applying for a grant to redo the park. Stay tuned! I hope it develops so the kids of Kinloch can have a great place to play!
