City Park, New Haven

Playground Ground Cover: Rubber mats

This park is actually next door to Roy Bail Park. It has a covered pavilion and a sand area with a merry-go-round, a slide, and a couple of spring horses. 




Little Free Library 



The playground is pretty large and has slides, a bridge, and monkey bars. 






There is 1 baby swing and 2 sling swings





The pool is in this park and was built in 2021. It's on the smaller side, but it features a lazy river, an AquaClimb wall, two slides, and a zero-entry pool.

This is a very small park that was created in 2024. It has one picnic table and a small play structure. There are also 4 sling swings.

Pleasant Ridge Park, Fairview Heights

Playground Ground Cover: Wood chips

Pleasant Ridge Park, in the northern part of the city, is the largest of the two community parks with 95 acres. The park offers wintertime sledding. A bit of very early Fairview Heights history is represented in the park in the form of a 2-story log cabin, a structure built about 1850 by the Kinsella family. Our Parks and Recreation page has more information on the history of the Kinsella Log Cabin. Other facilities in the park are 4 picnic pavilions, a playground, 2 restrooms, and open space for passive recreation. 




The playground is smaller, but it is enclosed with a wooden fence. The play structure is 2 stories with several slides, a bubble window, a zip line, and a bouncing bench.

Lions Park, Waterloo IL

Lions Memorial Park is located off of Janice Drive and Lake Drive in the Sunset Acres subdivision. The park has a ball field, soccer field, sand volleyball court, playground equipment, and a covered pavilion. A new bathroom facility was added in 2014.




There is a small covered pavilion next to the play structure, which has slides, a bridge, & a steering wheel. 


You don't see these sand diggers much anymore.

Lakeview Park, Waterloo IL

Lakeview Park is situated off Lakeview Drive, southwest of Waterloo, and spans approximately 100 acres. The park features a 2.25-mile paved walking trail, modern playground equipment, a Dog Park, a Pickleball Court, and three large lakes open for fishing. A fishing license is required at the park.


Two covered pavilions are available for group picnic use. The pavilions have running water and electricity, barbecue pits, and restrooms nearby. These pavilions can be reserved for a nominal fee.

They have 2 baby swings and 2 sling swings.



The play structure is older and perfect for toddlers. There is a bridge, a couple of slides, and a zipline.



Nice view of the lake, which is stocked with fish.
