Playground Ground Cover: Wood chips

Website: https://www.sunset-hills.com/881/Stieren-Inspirational-Site

The Stieren Family Playground opened at the end of 2018 and has some unique features. It's located right across the road from the ball fields. The centerpiece of the playground is a concrete tugboat with a steering wheel and slides. Also, see if you can find all the cute animals on it!

There are 2 baby swings and 6 sling swings.

The 100-foot zipline is awesome!

Next to the playground are 2 small covered pavilions.

Another cool feature is the half-mile trail through the woods with fitness equipment.

They added regular playground equipment during 2023. There is a free-standing web spinner, a modified merry-go-round, and 2 very tall play structures with climbing netting in between.

Sand diggers

Free-standing rock wall

They build a new restroom building at the entrance by the parking lot sometime during 2023. This is a great addition and there are also water fountains.

The historic park was placed into ordinance in 1867.  It takes up 35.8 acres of land near in the neighborhood of Compton Heights. The Compton Hill water tower, built in 1899 is a South Saint Louis landmark. There are seven historic standpipe water towers left in the United States and St. Louis has three of them! (Grand Ave, Compton Hill, and Bissell). The tower quickly became a favorite spot from which to view the City, and remains so today with limited public hours for the public to tour and climb to the top. The structure consists of a stone base, with a brick shaft that rises 179 feet with a total of 198 steps. The playground is around the corner along Compton Hill Pl and it's circled in red on this map.

The playground has one play structure and an area with swings (2 baby swings and 4 sling swings)

There are several different slides, a bridge, and lots of bars and poles.

The bathrooms are back here but I didn't go in

This fenced-in area is the dog park.

Website: https://stlvirtualreality.com/

We attended a birthday party here and it was super fun for the kids! They did an interactive game where they had to fight zombies together for about 35 minutes,  then they had pizza and cupcakes, and then they played another game against aliens.
