Edwardsville Children's Museum, Edwardsville IL

Location: 722 Holyoake Rd, Edwardsville, IL 62025

Website: http://edwardsvillechildrensmuseum.org/

I hadn't been here in several years and it has come a long way! They have really built up the outside with an amazing garden and a Route 66 area.

The Route 66 Raceway exhibit will open this summer in the Discovery Garden.  Visitors will be able to race mini-pedal cars at the H&F Exteriors Garage, fuel up at the Phillips 66 Filling Station, and cruise the mini-Mother Road. This will be amazing!

This Discovery Garden is large and has so many interesting things to explore, including a water area, a sensory area, an outdoor kitchen, a little playhouse, and more.

This museum is on the smaller side and has several interactive exhibits including a mock dentist, veterinarian office, hospital nursery, flower shop, grocery store, fire department, pizza shop, and more.

Photos of the birthday party we attended here. It was so fun and very well run.

They offer programming for newborns through 12 years of age including baby sign language, preschool playgroup, story time, summer camps, girls scout workshops, birthday parties, and much more. They are always updating their exhibits and programming, be sure to stop by and see what's new!

Village Hall Park, Glen Carbon

Location: 151 N. Main St., Glen Carbon, IL 62034

Website: https://www.glencarbonil.gov/877/Parks

Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber

Village Hall Park is a 3-acre facility located directly behind the Village Hall at 151 North Main Street. This park is the primary sporting and recreational complex within Glen Carbon. Among its many attractions, the park boasts a Little Folks Playground because of a "Bright Ideas" grant from Illinois Power. While older children are competing on the field, their younger siblings can play in a safe area during sporting and non-sporting events. Village Park is a primary gathering area for activities within the area. Its amenities include lighted baseball field, concession stand, comfort stations, little folks playground, and covered pavilions.

The playground is very small and includes a swing, some ride-on spring toys, and a teeter-totter.
