This used to be the city park but in 2018 they renamed it in honor of a long time public works director who is battling cancer.  The pavilion has 12 tables and is right next to the playground and restroom building.

The play structure is older but in good condition. It has slides, a steering wheel, and bars and poles.

Location: Lemp & Utah St., St. Louis, MO 63118

Website: https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/parks/parks/browse-parks/view-park.cfm?parkID=26&parkName=Cherokee%20Park

Playground Ground Cover: Poured rubber and wood chips

This is a standard neighborhood playground. It has 4 sling swings and 2 baby swings.  The play equipment looks fairly new.

Apparently the bathrooms are bad news so I didn't go in there. You can google it if you want more info on that!

Very unrealistic looking boulder

There are a couple slides, a rock wall, some other climbers, a bridge, and some bars and poles.

Samuel Kennedy Park, St. Louis City

Location: 4700 Washington Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108

Website: https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/parks/parks/browse-parks/view-park.cfm?parkID=106

Playground Ground Cover: Poured rubber and astroturf

This playground is SO CUTE. And it's completely enclosed with a gate. It's perfect for toddlers! It's small and the plantings are beautiful, you feel like you're in a beautiful garden. The ONLY thing I hate is that there is no bathroom! There are some businesses nearby that would hopefully let you use their facilities but I can't guarantee anything.

There is this curved metal climbing wall on astroturf right in the middle of the park.

The play structure has stepping stones, some slides, a little tunnel, and various bars and poles.

 Old splashpad

If you look at the park's website they have old photos that show that used to be functional, and it's such a shame that it's not anymore!!!
