Website: https://godfreyil.org/village-township-departments/parks-and-recreation/parks/

Playground Ground Cover: Wood chips

Captain Jake Ringering Park at Clifton Terrace is a beautiful 3-acre park located on the Meeting of the Great Rivers Scenic Byway along the Mississippi River. It is also a rest stop on the state-owned Vadalabene Bike Trail. This park offers a playground, prairie remnant, memorial trees, an informative kiosk, and restroom facilities. This is also a great place for eagle-watching during the winter months. Ringering was a fire caption with the Godfrey Fire Department. He was killed while battling a house fire in Bethalto back in March and the park was renamed for him in 2019.

The playground has a smaller play structure, 3 spring ride-on animals, tunnels, slides, and some bars and poles to climb on.

  • Restrooms
  • Water fountains
  • Paved Trails
  • Great Rivers Greenway Connector
  • Amphitheater, capacity of 100
  • Destination playground and splash pad.

This amazing destination playground opened in April 2024. Please enter the park from Brentwood Blvd. via East Pendleton Ave. and turn right onto Brazeau Ave. The entrance from Brentwood Blvd. is part of a future project that is in process. Just be aware that parking is a nightmare here, they do not have enough and if you park in some of the parking lots of businesses in the area you may be towed. They are aware of the problem and say they are working on solutions.

This playground has everything, including a zipline, a huge net climber, a Viking swing, a merry-go-round, and more. If this playground looks familiar, it was built by the same people who built O'Day Park and Veterans Memorial Park in St. Charles and has a lot of the same elements and features.

The 2.5-acre playscape includes ziplines, basket hammocks, rock-climbing walls, hills you can roll down, a merry-go-round (ADA accessible), and a multilevel play structure to accommodate all ages and abilities. The splash pad is a very long channel with sprayers and pop jets along the way.

1 of 2 covered pavilions overlooking the playground

In addition to the parking lot, there is street parking across the street but the residents aren't happy about people taking their spots.

They have an expression swing, ADA highback swing, a baby swing, and 3 sling swings.

The pavilion close to the playground has an outdoor gas fireplace, a window wall, and private bathrooms. There is a big lawn there for events and string lights as well.

The splash pad here is a very long concrete channel. There are 2 "dams" you can lift to manipulate the flow of water. There are several pop jets that come on periodically at each end and in the middle.

Nice nod to Deer Creek

This webbed climber is HUGE and super fun with lots to do underneath it, including rolling logs, floating steps, hammocks, and more.

This double-disc swing is so fun!

This hill is perfect for rolling

This wooden play structure is super cool and has slides, activity panels, and rope bridges.

This aqua blue area is for the smaller kids and has the 2 roller slides, merry-go-round, smaller webbed climber, swings, and balance beam.

The amphitheater is awesome and I can't wait to listen to music here!
