Amenities: sprayground, wading pool, and sculpture park

Open from sunrise to 10 pm, the city garden offers a striking green space in the center of downtown St. Louis. The park is free but parking is metered (until 7 pm). Kids will love the huge splash pad and wading pool. Bring a picnic and relax in the grass. Parking is tricky when it's crowded, since it's on the street, and you do get the occasional homeless person joining you in the wading pool. Overall though, it's mostly families enjoying some outdoor time together. Also, the only restrooms are port-a-potties. There is some really cool sculpture here too.
I love that they rake circles in these paths! It's so pretty.
