Playground Ground Cover: Poured Rubber
This is an Unlimited Play Playground, and it's amazing. There are so many fun things about this playground but I think everyone will agree that the volcano is the best part. My daughter played in there almost the whole time with some other little girls. It's open inside and they were pretending all kinds of things.
There is one baby swing, one Expression Swing, 2 adaptive swings, 2 sling swings, and a saucer swing. There is a rolly slide, 3 other slides, and the volcano slide. There are rings, spider webbing to climb, musical instruments, spinning chairs, and a sound board. There is a tic tac toe board, a maze board, and a small table and chairs under a play structure. There is an animal tracker where you have to find certain animals hidden throughout the playground and a couple rock walls. There are also poles and bars galore. There are benches and rocks to sit on but not much shade.
I included the label "creek" on this post because Joachim Creek is to the east of the playground. There seems to be a path leading to it but I didn't go down there to see how it is.
They have a new restroom building next to the playground and a little free library as well.
There's a cute little table with 2 chairs under this tic tac toe board. They are enjoying their lunch in the shade.
Hiding spot and/or bench
expression swing!
This is the new large pavilion right next to the playground. It holds a lot of space and has fans!
The splash pad is pirate-themed, and it's totally amazing. It's one of the coolest in St. Louis for sure.
This unique disk has all kinds of water manipulation devices.
I've never seen this at any other splash pad!
We love this park! I have a severely Autistic son and he loves to move his trains up and down the bumpy slide and the splash pad disk!
ReplyDeleteI do have a couple complaints. My son is only 12, but about 5'10 /200 lbs. He struggles to fit down the slides. And, I really wish they put a "cap" on the volcano. Kids climb up and drop through the center. Way too far for little ones to jump!
We are just grateful he can fit on anything. I dream of advocating and creating playground/activities for older kids. I see so many special needs adults and bigger kids and theres just not a lot for them to do.
I really appreciate this list because there are several I hadn't thought of! Thanks so much!
