Tower Grove Children's Concert Series, St. Louis City

Location: 3616 Southeast Dr., St. Louis, MO 63110

Website: https://www.towergrovepark.org/calendar/2018/6/6/summer-childrens-concert-series-ztdyb-dyw5f-bchgs-239kb

Every year there are free musical concerts for kids in Tower Grove Park. The concerts are held Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. from August - September at the Stupp Center Garden in Tower Grove Park. Reservations are required.  Doors open at 9:15 a.m.

This is a good way for children to learn about and explore different musical styles.Get there a little early because seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and there is only room for 150 people total. The concerts in the past were in the Piper Palm House so these photos will be of that location.

The lily pond is right outside and fun to explore

Kids are not expected to sit still, they can get up and dance in the back.

We usually do the free concert and then head over to the playground and wading pool. Doing both of these activities will easily kill a few hours!

The Stupp Center garden is located in the bottom right corner of the park circled in red, near Grand and Arsenal.

Kirkwood Aquatic Center, Kirkwood

Location: 111 S. Geyer Rd, Kirkwood, MO 63122

Website: https://www.kirkwoodparksandrec.org/Home/Components/FacilityDirectory/FacilityDirectory/36/445

The award-winning Recreation Station Aquatic Center offers a large variety of aquatic-based activities for everyone. You can swim laps in the competitive pool, play on the aquatic playground, float in the Lazy River, take a wild ride down the slides, or relax on the beach in the leisure pool.

For Tot Time only the aquatic playground is available. My kids especially loved the slide! Tot time is open to anyone.

Previously you couldn't get into this pool unless you were a resident of Kirkwood or a guest. They now offer nonresidents an option to buy an ID card for $30 and then you pay nonresident daily rates on top of that.

Nature Classrooms in Missouri

Do you know what a nature classroom is? Or where they are located? This article sums it up perfectly.

Here in St. Louis, there is the Green Center in U City next to Kaufman park, the playground at the Heights, Shaw Nature Reserve, the Botanical Garden, Towne Park in Foristell, and Union Preschool in South City.  Honorable mention Little Creek Nature Area in Florissant.

Go check one out and see why they are so much fun!

Olde Town Park, St. Peters

Location: 141 Gatty Dr, St. Peters, MO 63376

Website: http://www.stpetersmo.net/st-peters-parks.aspx#oldetown

Playground Ground Cover: Rubber mats and wood chips

The physical sign says Olde Town but the website says Old Towne so who knows where the extra E goes!  Olde Town Park is St. Peters' original park. More than 100 years old, this park is still a favorite of the community, offering two ball diamonds, four horseshoe pits, two pavilions and a playground.
As a bonus this 1835 cabin is located on site.

The cabin was originally built and owned by Jacob Sattler on a site near Belleau Creek Road.

In 1995, Sattler's descendants donated the cabin to the Old Town Association after it was scheduled to be razed in preparation for a new development. The Association then kept the cabin in storage until 1999 when the City of St. Peters donated land on Gatty Road near Old Town Park as a new homestead. In 2004, the Old Town Association asked the City to take over the reconstruction of the cabin on the new site.

In December 2005 the Log Cabin officially opened with the first annual "Visit With Santa.” This annual event provides families the opportunity to have their picture taken with Santa in a true historical setting.

The playground has 2 baby swings, 2 sling swings, and a great play structure. It has 4 slides, a tic tac toe board, ramps, moving stepping stones, rock wall, and lots of bars and poles.

Brown Road Park, St. Peters

Location: 100 Brown Rd, St. Peters, MO 63376

Website: http://www.stpetersmo.net/st-peters-parks.aspx#brownroad

Playground Ground Cover: Poured rubber

The St. Peters website says there is a playground here, but there is not. There are only 4 sling swings and that's it. However, it's worth including because it is one of the few places in St. Louis that has sanctioned BMX tracks.

Playground Ground Cover: Poured rubber and wood chips

This is an older playground but still fun. There is also a community garden here as well. They have 2 sling swings and 2 baby swings. There is one structure for littles and one for bigger kids. There are 4 rocking horses too.

They only have a port-a-potty- no permanent restrooms. It's next to the parking lot and pavilion.

Covenant Park, St. Peters

Location: 2199 Willotte Rd, St. Peters, MO 63376

Website: http://www.stpetersmo.net/st-peters-parks.aspx#covenant

Playground Ground Cover: Rubber mats

This playground only has one thing, and it's unique. It's a large orange shape with spiderwebbing in the center. There is also one baby swing, one sling swing, one adaptive swing, and a spinning seat. I didn't see any restrooms.
